You couldn’t help but watch Castiel has he roamed through the bunker. His trenchcoat flapping around his legs as he walked up and down the library. Your eyes flicked back down to the book you were pretending to read when his blue eyes turned to you. Listening as his footsteps echoed once more before you looked up.

“How long?” His gravelly voice demanded, you looked up and him and cocked your head slightly. You reached out, hitting the screen of your phone until the time flashed up at you.

“They’ve been gone five minutes Cas.” You answered softly, settling back down in your chair.

“Relax. I’ve set an alarm, and they’ll call if anything goes wrong.” You added, watching the angel continue to pace.

“I fear I have made a mistake Y/N.” Castiel sighed, stopping to look at you.

“Sam and Dean know what they’re doing Cas, they’ll be fine. This isn’t the first time you’ve sent them back in time.” You returned your attention to your book, finally able to focus now that Castiel wasn’t pacing. Instead his gaze focussed entirely on you.

You couldn’t figure out why. You had forced the boys to carry one of the comfy armchairs you had brought into the library, and you were now sprawled out across it. Your shoulder tucked into the soft foam as your legs rested over the armrest. Your long hair was loose down your shoulders while you read.

“You’re staring.” You complained quietly, turning the page. Castiel cleared his throat, shuffling around, but his eyes rested on you again moments later. You tried to ignore it once more, but his gaze made the butterflies in your stomach flutter wildly. Your concentration was shattered when you looked at the angel and the way he was staring at you.

Castiel.” His eyes went wide at the way you whined his name.

“If you need something to do, go make me food or something.” You waved your hand flippantly, not expecting the angel to actually do as you suggested.

“Sorry.” Castiel apologised quietly, shuffling out of the room. You sighed, letting yourself relax once more. Getting lost in the book laid in your lap.

It was at least an hour later when you looked up, your muscles cramping slightly from the way you were hunched over your book. You sighed, standing and stretching, leaving your book open in the seat you had just abandoned. Your fingers drifted towards your phone, brushing across the screen as you glanced at the time. You pocketed your phone, you and Castiel still had six hours before he had to go fetch the boys.

“Cas?” You called softly, starting to look for him. It was strange how long he’d left you alone for. Even more worrying when the angel didn’t reply. You considered praying for a second, before deciding just to look for the angel.

You looked in the boy’s rooms first, as well as your own and the one Cas only ever pretended to use. Frowning when the angel was in neither, you drifted through the lounge. You sighed, wondering where Castiel could have got to. He would have told you if he was going to leave, and he was far too worried about the Winchester brothers to leave before he had fetched them.

“Cas?” You turned on the spot, as if he would just appear out of nowhere. Like he had done several times before.

“Y/N?” You sighed when you heard him call your name, relief flooding through you.

“Is everything okay?” Castiel called, his voice echoing down the halls towards you.

“Yeah.” You replied, walking to where his voice was coming from. Oddly enough, the kitchen.

“Go back to your book.” You considered what Castiel said, but you were way to curious about what he was up to. You kept moving forward.

“You alright Cas? I thought you had gone missing.”

Fine. You paused, fine was the opposite of whatever the angel was right now. Without hesitating you pulled out the blade you always had tucked into your boots. You gripped it tightly in your hand, stalking towards the kitchen. Wondering what on earth could have possibly gotten in past the bunkers wards, and then past you.

The kitchen door was shut when you reached it, so you took a moment. Listening to see if you could hear what was happening on the other side. No noise reached your ears, worrying you further. You took a deep breath, hoping Dean had fixed the doors creak as you nudged it open.

“Y/N?” Castiel spun around at the obnoxious creak of the door. You winced, before looking around. Castiel wasn’t in trouble, in fact he was the trouble. Food was strewn over every surface, pots and pans bubbling over and sizzling as they spat oil and food at Dean’s nice clean walls.

You took it all in with wide eyes, before looking to Castiel. He was just as covered as his surroundings. Standing in front of a bench with a large number of bowls. There was dough in the angels black hair, food all over his clothes and face.

“Castiel-” You started, before doubling over with laughter.

“You’re judging me.” Castiel stated with a sigh, trying to wipe food off his face, but only succeeding in smearing more dough over his features.

“You’re-” You couldn’t form a sentence, sitting on the floor and clutching at your stomach. Tears rolling from your face.

“You told me to make you food, and-” Castiel trailed off, looking at the mess around him.

“I made a bit of a mess?”

“A bit?” You wiped your tears away, a smile tugging painfully at your cheeks.

“Go have a shower and clean up. I’ll take care of all of this.” You stood up, walking over to Castiel and looking at what he was attempting to cook.

“You’re always cleaning up after us men Y/N.” Castiel frowned, looking down at you.

“It’s what I do, it’s a hobby of mine.” You shrugged, stretching up on tippy toes to kiss Castiel’s cheek, thankfully finding a free spot.

“Thank you for the thought Castiel. I am honoured.” Castiel’s eyes locked on yours as you pulled away.

“I wanted to do something for you.” He whispered, you found your eyes falling to his lips. Snapping yourself out of it with a shake of your head.

“You did. Thank you.” Castiel’s head tilted, looking at you closely. Before he leant down and brushed his lips over yours.
